In 21st century, students have to be prepared to face complex challenges and seize new opportunities. Schools are required to emphasize learning for deeper understanding rather than the mastery of lower-order skills (Bereiter & Scardamalia, 2003). Many countries realeases 21st Century Competencies frameworks. Dfferent frameworks for 21st century skills vary slightly, but these frameworks cover skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and creativity in common. To foster the development of 21st-century skills, computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is one of the most successful strategies. Thus, CSCL has become important as an emerging educational technology paradigm. This event is to explore the definition of CSCL, the important theories underlying CSCL, the strengths and limitations of CSCL, and how to apply CSCL.
